Gustan Asselbergs / drummer
​Brought up in a musical environment, Gustan Asselbergs started playing drums at an early age. He studied briefly at the Conservatory of Utrecht, but, disappointed with the teaching he received, decided to follow a different path.
Asselbergs has recorded for film and done extensive session work. His current projects include the New Amsterdam Trio and Roser/Moser/Asselbergs.
Recently, he began recording drums for clients from his home studio.
Gustan Asselbergs’ playing is characterized by a strong focus on touch, sound, and a deep commitment to acoustic flow. He believes that genres and traditions do matter, but never in a restrictive way: be present, serve the music.
